Tattoo care.

Tattoo care is an important step that helps to maintain the brightness and clarity of your tattoo.

On this page, as your tattoo artist, I share my recommendations and tips to ensure that your tattoo remains beautiful and healthy for many years to come.

  • Before The Appointment
Starting a week before our scheduled appointment. I ask that you drink a lot of water and apply moisturizer to the surface I'll be working with. Doing so provides me with good canvas and yourself with best project results.

    For Pain Numbing I recommend
    "BACTINE SPRAY"
  • After The Appointment
Remove the cover after 2-3 hours. Use unscented, antibacterial soap to wash your hands. With clean hands wash your tattoo using the same soap. Use paper towels to pat dry the tattoo and apply a thin layer of ointment, I recommend "Aquaphor". Treat your tattoo in shower or sink but don't allow products other than soap come in contact with your fresh tattoo.

  • Days 1 - 2
First couple days are very important. Repeat the process of washing hands with the soap, washing the tattoo and apply ointment. Twice a day is the minimum, that is morning and night. If possible another time in the middle of the day. Avoid workouts and sun exposure.
  • Days 3 - 7
Continue treating your tattoo the same way. You'll notice the ink will start to peel, don't mess with it and it will fall off naturally. If the tattoo is feeling itchy, gently tap on it instead of scratching.
By day 7 peeling should be over.
  • Week 2
Now it's time for the second half of healing. Tattoo may start to look dull or dry, use lotion often. The second week you will need to wash your tattoo and apply unscented lotion 3-5 times daily.
Stay away from soaking your tattoo in water. Don't allow your tattoo to be exposed to the sun.
  • Ongoing Care
After two weeks you are almost done. You can participate in water activities but it is recommended to not sunbath your tattoo first month, the ink will get dull as the result. Apply sunscreen with 50+ SPF for the remained of your life. After a month use a soft body scrub on your tattoo to remove dead skin layer that will remove the glaze look some skin types may get after healing. Taking care of your skin is a good habit.
